Snake Plant 'Zeylanica' (Dracaena trifasciata)
The toughest plant in the house, in pinstripes. Snake Plant Zeylanica (Dracaena trifasciata) stacks tall wavy banded blades that shrug off dim corners, dry months, and radiator seasons.
No plant earns the phrase set it and forget it more honestly. It simply stands there looking architectural while life happens around it.
Snake Plant Zeylanica care
- Light: Tolerates nearly anything except unbroken hot sun.
- Water: Every two to four weeks, less in winter, always after full dryness.
- Spot: Bedrooms, hallways, offices, that corner nothing else survives.
- Pets: Toxic if eaten, so consider placement in pet homes.
- Growth: Upright to about three feet, multiplying by pups.
Can snake plants live in a windowless bathroom?
For months at a time, yes, which is more than almost any plant can claim. It will pause growing in true darkness though, so rotate it to a brighter room a few times a year to recharge.
