Deforestation is growing into a global problem as demand for wood and space for agriculture climb. Every year, 30 million acres of forest and woodland are lost through deforestation, and we still continue to cut down our forests at an alarming rate. Our existing forests shrinking ability to store Carbon Dioxide is expected to dramatically change our climate over the next decade. Deforestation and peat-land degradation were responsible for more than half of the world's greenhouse gas emissions in 2019. Our forests act as a carbon sink that mitigate the effects of climate change by storing Carbon Dioxide and producing Oxygen allowing us to breathe.

Harnessing the power of plants, trees and soil, we can literally beat the heat by trapping carbon from the atmosphere and sequestering it naturally. If we could counteract deforestation and maintain the health of these forests it would lead to increased photosynthesis and massive forest growth. That in turn would allow us to capture a whopping 1.5 billion tons of Carbon Dioxide per year. It has been estimated that every one acre of trees in an urban forest produces enough oxygen for eight people, and removes 188 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air.

Planty Love Co is committed to being part of solution to this global problem that affects all of us. Which is why we have partnered with One Tree Planted a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization through our One Potted One Planted Initiative. As an environmental charity, they’re on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. One Tree Planted is able to plant ONE tree for every ONE dollar that is donated. Planty Love Co has set a goal to plant at least 1,000,000 trees and hopefully more over its lifetime. Planty Love Co will donate ONE Tree for every garden pot that we sell. This is in addition the portion of our profits that will go to organizations that help veterans and fight against social injustice on a monthly basis
