Gold Flame Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata)
Edged in flame, easy at heart. The Gold Flame Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) runs bold yellow margins up every upright blade, bright enough to read across the room.
New leaves emerge almost entirely gold before deepening, so the plant always carries two tones of light in one pot.
Gold Flame Snake Plant care
- Light: Medium to bright keeps margins vivid, though shade is tolerated.
- Water: Restraint wins: water only after complete dryness.
- Soil: Free draining mix, snug pot.
- Pets: Toxic if chewed, place it up and out of the way.
- Growth: Vertical and tidy, around two feet.
Do snake plants need fertilizer?
Barely. A half strength feed once or twice in spring and summer covers a full year. Overfeeding shows up as floppy, stretched leaves, so when unsure, feed less than the label suggests.
