Pilea Peperomioides Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides)
Pancake leaves, endless offspring, complete charm. The Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides) balances round coin leaves on slim stems and shares pups so freely it became famous as the pass along plant.
It looks hand drawn, thrives on a bright sill, and starts more plant friendships than any species we know.
Chinese Money Plant care
- Light: Bright indirect light, rotating the pot so it grows evenly.
- Water: When the pot lightens and leaves soften a touch, water well.
- Spot: Windowsills and desks where its geometry shows.
- Pets: Non toxic and pet safe.
- Growth: Quick, cheerful, and generous with baby plants.
Why do Pilea leaves curl?
Doming or cupping usually points to light, either too little or too sudden. Bright but indirect flattens new leaves out. Slight curl on new growth is normal and relaxes as leaves mature.
