Watermelon Peperomia (Peperomia argyreia)
Tiny watermelons on red stems. The Watermelon Peperomia (Peperomia argyreia) grows silver striped leaves so convincingly rind like that people reach out to touch them.
It has become the signature small plant of styled shelves everywhere, and it earns it: compact, patterned, unfussy.
Watermelon Peperomia care
- Light: Bright and indirect, an arm or two from a window.
- Water: Moderate drinks after the top half dries out.
- Feed: A gentle feed monthly in the growing season.
- Pets: Safe for every pet in the house.
- Growth: Neat rosettes to about eight inches.
Does Watermelon Peperomia like sun?
It likes light, not sun. Strong direct rays fade the silver stripes and can scorch the leaf tissue, while a bright north or east exposure keeps the pattern high contrast.
